The key partners of Spatula Media + Communications are Alison Love and David McIlvride. Alison has more than 20 years working in marketing – primarily in the shopping centre industry. David has logged more than 30 years in the film and television industry.
They’ve also racked up an impressive list of awards in both the marketing and television industry. Alison has won over 20 major national and international shopping centre marketing & advertising awards and was recognized as one of the Top 5 Marketers in Vancouver in the ‘90s. David has 2 Gemini’s (the best of Canadian broadcast television), an Emmy (the best of US broadcast television) and both David and Alison share a GLAAD Award (which is the award given to media by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) as well as many international “Best Documentary” awards for their documentary, “Sledhead” which featured Canada’s Paralympic Sledge Hockey team.
Spatula Media + Communications continues to grow, develop and adapt with each new client and the changing media landscape.
Alison continues to produce and coordinate events in the Okanagan Valley with the hugely successful Dinér en Blanc Okanagan becoming a “must attend” spectacle and Okanagan Feast of Fields, an event celebrating the local farmer and their relationship to the chef and winemaker. Alison offers marketing and public relations support to community legacy events Flower Power Garden Tour and the Hot Holiday Homes Tour – both generating needed funds for grassroots community initiatives.
Recently David and Alison have been working with Prestige Hotels and Resorts, producing a series of photo essays as part of a content marketing strategy created for this BC-based hotel chain.
Spatula Media + Communications focuses primarily on the leisure, food and wine industry. We love chefs, winemakers, farmers and anyone who struggles to make “a go” in this highly competitive business.
