I love this time of year for connecting with friends and family. A number of local businesses have embraced the Happy Hour and it’s been great to enjoy the delicious food and drink, visit with friends and not spend a fortune.
West Coast Grill and Oyster Bar – If you’ve not been, you need to visit their Happy Hour. They feature 50% off their starters, $5 glasses of house wine, $5 draft beer and $5 hi-balls. Their features include fresh raw oysters, calamari, crab cakes, tacos and charcuterie & cheese platters. I love grabbing a seat at beautiful marble bar and watching the chef and oyster shucker hard at work. They are tucked in the bottom of the Prestige Beach House hotel on the corner of Abbott and Hwy 97.
Happy Hour: Daily from 3:00 – 6:00 pm
micro bar & bites – What I love about micro is their monthly changing menu. For Happy Hour, they offer 5 different menu items at $5 each with $2 off draft beer or wine. With only 34 seats and the bulk of them around the bar, it’s a great spot to meet friends.
Happy Hour: Daily from 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Oak + Cru – Their lineup of $5 Social Bites and $6 drinks has us relaxing in their comfy chairs often. The wines on tap are rotating and they even offer a $6 seasonal cocktail during Happy Hour. Social Bites include warm olives (once you’ve had warm olives, cold olives just don’t cut it), sundried hummus and flatbread, Edamame, and their fries! I can’t wait until patio season arrives again and I can combine my love of enjoying the Okanagan sunshine on their spectacular patio and Happy Hour! Located at the Delta Grand Okanagan.
Happy Hour: Daily from 3:00 – 6:oo pm
BNA – Head to the tasting room adjacent to the restaurant for $5 sleeves and or flights of their craft beer. I’m not sure who the creative mind is behind the ‘naming’ of the brews but check out the Pamela and Don’t Lose your Dinosaur IPA.
Happy Hour: Thursday – Saturday from 4 – 7 pm.
Some of our local wineries are also offering their versions of Happy Hour.
Sandhill – Drop by on Fridays after work and enjoy live music, appetizers from local chefs and $6 glasses of Sandhill wines. On our visit, a food truck was stationed outside and food tickets were $5. It was a great deal, the music was amazing and the place was very lively.
Happy Hour: Fridays from 5 -7 pm.
Quails’ Gate Estate Winery – Although we often think of Old Vines Restaurant at Quails’ Gate for dinner on a special occasion their Happy Hour has changed our mind. They offer $5 tapas dishes and $5 glasses of the latest releases from Quails’ Gate. The tapas dishes included handcut truffle fries, fried cauliflower, Baked Mac n Cheese and more!
Happy Hour: Monday – Friday from 3:00 – 6:00 pm
