The Rebranding of a Four Diamond Restaurant
It took a lot of moxie, nerve and belief in yourself – but that’s exactly what Chef Rod Butters and Audrey Surrao of RauDZ© Regional Table displayed when they decided to take one of B.C.’s best fine dining restaurants (Fresco) and turn it on it’s head, creating a totally different food destination.
We were fortunate to ‘get in on the ground floor’ of rebranding the restaurant that would stress the owners’ philosophy of FRESH • LOCAL • COMFORTABLE.
By identifying their core values and listening to them we found the work …. well … not like work at all. From designing a new corporate entity and getting them up on the web, to food photography, press releases, print & electronic advertising, developing an in-house retail brand and social media we’re proud to have been a part of this stunning and award-winning transformation and it’s growing success.
Keeping Ballet Kelowna on their toes!
Creating our own pas de deux we are working with Ballet Kelowna and our food & wine clients on their major fundraiser, Pirouette. This event pairs the art of dance and the artistry of food & wine in an evening of regional cuisine featuring the top chefs of the Okanagan. Spatula Media + Communications is raising the bar(re) by energizing the event into a “brilliantly playful” evening for the ticket holders while raising funds for one of Canada’s ten professional ballet companies. Planning ahead we created a video of last years event intercutting ballet and the dance in the kitchen to introduce new guests to this first class fundraiser.
Manteo Resort & Wild Apple Restaurant
Manteo Resort Waterfront Hotel and Villas is a luxury property located on beautiful Okanagan Lake. With increased competition for both corporate and group bookings as well as families looking for their getaway, Spatula Media + Communications worked with the Manteo team to create a new advertising and messaging campaign that is launching December 2011. This new campaign will allow us to promote the strengths of this boutique property, be approachable and maybe a bit irreverent with our messaging while clearly identifying that this property is in fact on the waterfront and not across the street from the water or on the highway strip entering town. Full colour photography along with our tag line of “It’s a Shore Thing” would provide the hook on which to hang our various messaging.
The campaign will also be developed to include the beautiful Wild Apple Restaurant located in the resort which also boasts a fabulous waterside patio for the long Okanagan summers.
First approached a few years ago to assist with the National conference of the CCFCC (Canadian Culinary Federation of Chefs and Cooks) that was being held in Kelowna, BC we designed and produced signage, conference programs, sourced one of a kind awards and designed an easy to use website for the Association. Since that summer, Spatula Media + Communications and the Okanagan Chefs Association have continued to work hand in hand as this group of chefs and cooks has grown significantly and is recognized as one of the strongest branches in the country. We’re proud to work with them developing new initiatives, providing marketing feedback and assistance and promoting the Okanagan as a strong culinary destination.
